Asthma is a disease of airways that is characterized by increasing responsiveness of the tracheobronchial tree to a variety of stimuli resulting in widespread spasmodic narrowing of air passage which may relieved spontaneously or by therapy. Asthma is one of the most common diseases of childhood, with a prevalence rate of 5.4%. The prevalence in boys is 50% greater than that among girls. The Prevalence of asthma in Asian countries varies between 5.2%, in Taipei to 30%, in New Zealand and in other countries it is around 10-17 %. Asthma exacerbation in children should be treated promptly and aggressively at home and/or in the Emergency Department (ED) depending on systems severity.
